Chanel's holiday collection; Nuit Infinie de Chanel is stunning as always. I ended up getting three pieces plus a new powder from their permanent lineup. This post will be a general overview and first impressions on the products. I will be posting more in-depth reviews of them all individually later
I originally planned on only getting Rouge Rubis from the Chanel Holiday Collection this year, actually from all the holiday collections, but boy was I wrong. As soon as I layed eyes on the eyeshadow palette I knew I had to have it and the blush is just too stunning to skip.
I will say I kind of justified getting so many things with not buying anything from any of the other collections - and I really wanted one of the Dior Diorific Vernis nail polishes. Guerlain usually always has my heart with the holiday collections, but I'm a real sucker for packaging and the Crazy Paris collection simply didn't "do it" for me. Quite the relief actually.
I've been wanting a pressed powder for ages, but haven't been able to find one that didn't seem like it would bee too cakey, matte or simply unnatural on. I love my loose powders and generally find the finish they give to be much nicer, but they are impossible to take with you for touchups.
Having read many fantastic reviews on Chanel's Vitalumiere Compact Douceur Powder I wanted to try it for ages, but it wasn't available here in Norway. I'm not sure if it's just Norway or all across Europe, but the powder finally got released just a few weeks back here and I bought it the second I saw it. I'm the lightest shade 12 Beige Rose and it seems to be absolutely perfect for taking down my t-zone. I've only used it once (really trying to finish up my Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder) but I really loved it and it felt really comfortable on the skin instead of tight and obvious like so many others do.
Rouge Rubis has become an instant favourite. If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know I have an undying love for red nail polish and Rouge Rubis is absoutely perfect! If I wasn't so hard set on not to I would've certainly picked up a back-up by now. I just might crack eventually, it's too gorgeous!
No words needed really for the Ombres Matalassees De Chanel in "Charming". It's the perfect palette for any netural loving girl (or boy!). It holds four matte shades with one shimmery one in the middle if you want to spice things up a little. Fantastic for travelling or keeping in your handbag. A quick swipe of one of the darker colours and you can go straight from office-appropriate to happy hour.
Finally there's Accent. I really didn't need another blush, lord knows I really didn't, but I still don't regret it. I missed out on Notorious as it wasn't released in Norway and when I saw Accent I knew I wasn't going to miss out on this one as well. Now they are not dupes for each other at all, but they are both very original and different from the norm. Accent is a gorgeous colour to add just a hint of to your cheeks for some subtle contouring and adding a hint of a warm flush to the apples of your cheeks. I've been using it everyday since getting it and I am in love.
That's it for now. I will be trying to get up the reviews of each of the items as quickly as I can. Do take into account though that I have 6 exams in the next three weeks so unfortunately my time will be somewhat limited. If you find yourself at a Chanel counter not being able to make the decision on wether or not to go for it, please don't hesitate to leave me a comment asking whatever question you might have and I'll do my best to get back to you as fast as I can. You can either leave a comment here or tweet me at @BPJ_Ellie or via instagram; 'beautyproductsjunkie'.
