The North End Street Sale, organized by Patricia Romano, brought various types of sellers to the Polcari Playground on Saturday.

Proceeds from the fee for vendors to set up a table went toward the Nazzaro Center. Patricia Romano also hosted a table selling raffle tickets to benefit the center.

Sellers ranged from residents with tables filled with used books, children's toys, secondhand clothing, and other items. There were also vendors selling their photography and other items such as handmade bows.

Tara Hammes, a West End resident, was using the event as an opportunity to debut her handmade jewelry. Her shop called Hamtala Designs offered beaded bracelets and earrings as well as the option for custom orders.

"My website goes live tomorrow!" she said excitedly. "I wanted to see how well I did here today first."

Ellen Hume, an active North End resident, set up a table to raise awareness over the fight to secure the Nazarro Center as a landmark building. "Everything I make here, I'm donating to the center," she said.

On her table, she had postcards advertising her "Save the Nazzaro" project as well as a small booklet designed by the Boston Architectural College.

Photographer Gerri Palladino also attended the sale and shared these additional photos below.

The North End Street Sale, which organizers said hasn't been hosted in about 30 years, transformed the Polcari Playground into a little hub with yard sale/flea market vibes. Children could be found playing with the used toys at one vendor's table while adults rifled through clothing laid out on the ground. A unique community event that served an important community center brought residents together to enjoy the last weekend of September.
