British electronic group Clean Bandit has a way of lifting spirits and creating smiles. The GRAMMY Award-winning act, known for their adorable "Rather Be" which peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, are moving forward with the release of "Stronger", off the special edition version of their debut album, and it's as joyous as one could imagine.
With Sean Bass and Glee's Alex Newell on vocal duty, the group's latest single is an uplifting message of love and adoration, of someone wanting to be stronger for another. It's a cute message with catchy, uptempo beats supporting soaring vocal performances. "Stronger" is crafted well enough to be another huge hit for Clean Bandit. We will see if it catches on.
The new single starts off slow and sweet, focusing on the interesting electro-pop production and impressive instrumental work of the group, but certainly picks up pace when Newell is heard on the encouraging and loving chorus. It's perfectly tailored for the dancefloor and will easily get listeners moving and singing along.
"I wanted to be stronger, I wanted to be everything for you, if I could be stronger would you believe, that I could love you like you want me to?," the group questions. Drawing influences from multiple genres for the song - classical, pop, dance, electronic, gospel, R&B - Clean Bandit has consistently showcased a clever way of delivering simple lyrical content that makes a lasting impact on a listener. Very clever indeed.
"Stronger" may follow a similar progression path as the group's past singles, but when the finished product is as solid and memorable, is that necessary a bad thing? Not really. Clean Bandit are sticking to their classical electro-dance sound, it's clearly working in their favor, and giving fans enjoyable, radio-ready tunes. Slay on!
... also, the accompanying music will definitely put you in a good mood, hopefully they perform the song at the SXSW appearances this week. Can't wait! Watch below.
